Flaky Sausage & Cheese Crescent Rolls — The Easy Breakfast Everyone Grabs First
Let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving—the cheese inside will be extremely hot straight from the oven.
Why They’re So Good
The magic is the contrast.
The outside becomes flaky, buttery and golden while the center stays creamy and savory. Cream cheese binds the sausage and cheddar together, preventing the filling from becoming dry and crumbly.
You can also customize them easily. Pepper Jack adds a little heat, mozzarella gives you a stretchy cheese center, and cooked bacon can be mixed with the sausage for an extra-rich version.
Make Them Ahead
Prepare the sausage filling the night before and refrigerate it in a covered container. The next morning, simply fill and roll the crescent dough and bake.
Cooked leftovers should be refrigerated promptly in an airtight container. Reheat them in the oven or air fryer until hot throughout to bring back some of that flaky texture.
Serve them with scrambled eggs for breakfast or alongside mustard, ranch, hot sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce for a savory snack.
But be warned: if you put a warm tray of these on the table, making a double batch suddenly starts to seem like a very good idea.
