Try this to keep out mice.
The “Secret” Is Surprisingly Boring
People want a single ingredient they can sprinkle around the house.
Unfortunately, mouse control is usually less magical:
Seal the holes. Remove accessible food and water. Reduce hiding places. Trap mice already indoors. Monitor for new activity.
That’s what breaks the cycle.
If droppings continue appearing, don’t just keep adding stronger-smelling repellents.
Look for the route.
Behind the stove.
Under the sink.
Around utility lines.
At the garage.
Along the foundation.
Near doors.
Mice aren’t appearing from nowhere.
One Mouse Can Be Worth Investigating
Seeing a single mouse doesn’t tell you exactly how many are present.
But it does tell you something important:
At least one mouse found a way inside.
That’s enough reason to inspect the property rather than waiting for more evidence.
And if you solve the access problem early, you may prevent a much larger headache later.
So the next time somebody tells you they eliminated mice forever with peppermint, cinnamon, dryer sheets or another secret household ingredient, remember this:
The best mouse repellent isn’t a smell. It’s a house they can’t easily enter and a kitchen that doesn’t reward them when they do.
